Dung Beetle Bush School — African Bushcraft, Anti-Poaching & Safari

“We will lose something deep within ourselves if we allow our wilderness to be destroyed.”

Dung Beetle Bush School teaches the African bush — its tracks, its silences, its rhythms — and trains the people who protect it. Three disciplines, one purpose: keeping wild places wild.

The Current Situation

Wildlife and wilderness areas in Africa have never been so desperate as now. The organised destruction of our wild places — and the animals that depend on them — is taking place in the once game-rich heart of Southern Africa.

The Founder

Les Brett — twenty years in the bush, and counting.

Les Brett is the owner and founder of Dung Beetle Bush School. He is passionate about wildlife and the African bush, and started the school over twenty years ago to aid in the fight against poaching and ensure the survival of these majestic animals.

Today, that same school teaches the next generation of bushmen, trains the people who guard our reserves, and quietly guides the safaris that fund the work.
